Cover
Cover represents obstacles that block an attack or other effects. A creature can benefit from cover when an obstacle lies between it and the source of an attack or effect.
Types of Cover
Half Cover
A creature has half cover if an obstacle blocks at least half of its body. A creature with half cover has a +2 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws.
Three-Quarters Cover
A creature has three-quarters cover if about three-quarters of its body is covered by an obstacle. A creature with three-quarters cover has a +5 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws.
Full Cover
A creature has full cover if it is completely concealed by an obstacle. A creature with full cover can't be targeted directly by an attack or a spell, although some effects can reach around cover.
